Restoration of images is possible from film negatives, positives, slides that have been decomposed due to film aging, fungus & scratches. This process follows various stages as follows:


1. Diagnosis/Analysis

 

The very first step to Restoration is Inspection. Condition of each film, each reel of a film is very different to another. Every reel of film is individually evaluated for their physical condition prior to deciding the required restoration process that will be undertaken. Film will be checked for Bad splices, Brittleness, Shrinkage, Stickiness, Tearing, Lacquering Scratches, Cinch marks, Dirt, Dust, Digs, Curling, Newton’s rings, Patches, Emulsion separation & Edge damage & Nitrate decomposition.
